The Embassy of Japan in Luxembourg is honoured to welcome Her Imperial Highness Princess Akiko of Mikasa to Luxembourg.
On the 17th March 2026, Her Imperial Highness Princess Akiko of Mikasa will hold a presentation on arts in the Musée Dräi Eechelen, from 13h00 – 14h00 in collaboration with MNAHA.

The topic of the lecture is “The Art of Copying – Creating Reproductions for the West”.
Her Imperial Highness Princess Akiko of Mikasa is the elder daughter of Their Imperial Highnesses Prince and Princess Tomohito of Mikasa.
She was granted her Doctor of Philosophy (D. Phil.) in the field of Japanese Art from the University of Oxford in June 2010 and is the first female member of the Japanese Imperial family to obtain a Ph.D.
She organized “Shinyusha” that aims to inherit Japanese traditional culture to children who forge the future of Japan through workshops and other events to learn Japanese culture.
